This is a one-of-a-kind, entirely unique, handmade original piece of wearable art, built to last a lifetime.
Using a high quality burgundy tanned North American Bison hide, and a vintage herringbone tweed upholstery sample from Ethan Allen, we put together this rugged and sophisticated top hat, including custom fit and matching sheath, for a horn handled and hand forged knife, as well as matching pouch for small personal items. The knife is hand forged, high carbon steel, with a genuine horn handle. Blade on the knife is four inches, with an overall length of almost seven and one half inches. Please be aware of the laws where you live, as I assume no responsibility for items shipped to areas where laws prohibit specific edged items.
Created with the intrepid and adventurous spirit in mind, this hat has incorporated the North American Bison, perhaps the most noble and powerful of American icons, and the classic styling of the Ethan Allen herringbone tweed (now a discontinued and obsolete pattern), to accompany the well dressed explorer on their next expedition. Hand-stitched with waxed hemp thread for long lasting strength, and properly lined with a very nice paisley fabric, this is a nicely finished example of a leather top hat. The knife included with this hat is a small and handy but well forged and sturdy blade, conveniently stowed away in the hatband. It should prove useful for a number of things one encounters on the back-trail. The pocket on the opposite side of the hat's band would be good for a number of necessary personal items, left to the discretion of the wearer, and conveniently tucks them away for safe keeping.
A smaller-sized hat, which should suit persons with a head measurement of about 21 and 3/4 inches, or a 6 7/8ths hat size. Every care has been taken in the hand stitching, as well as every other aspect of this hat's construction, to ensure a long wearing and classically styled piece, that one should be proud to wear all the way there and back again.
I will never make another one like this, so if it calls to you I encourage you to listen.
